In case you’re not familiar with The Scarlet Room ( which we have often raved about their affordable and stylish clothing), we have recently teamed up with them along with a few other Singaporean bloggers!

We had so much fun working with Venetia, Lenne and the rest of the bloggers (Fatiha and Pia) and you could really tell from our grins and laughter, not something you’d usually see on the blog.

And this moustache section of the shoot made me discover my inner mexican. I was really into character.

View the rest of the photos ::here::. And do remember to visit http://thescarletroom.com!!!

God knows what was going through my mind when I told Dawn at gunpoint that we are starting a fashion blog. I didn’t think that it was so.much.work.

But in all honesty, I’m really glad that we did and I couldn’t have done it without Dawn and the support of all our wonderful wonderful readers.

Scrolling through the past 2 years of archive brings a tear to my eye (true story) what a long way we’ve come and we hope to constantly improve.

Thank you once again, here’s to many more years to come. :)

Much love,

Arissa & Dawn

PS: Remember that we can also be contacted via Twitter, Facebook and Formspring~!!!

Part I can be found here

Happy 2011 everyone! This marks the first post on the blog for the year…Pretty mundane I must say. But maybe I’ll make a ‘Best of 2011′ post soon. But for now, here’s Part II of the picture spam.

Spitalfields Market. I really love this place. Good food, great stalls and really friendly people. I don’t think this market is nearly as popular as Portobello so there are considerably less tourist traps here. The market is split up into two parts, the antiques section, and the craft section. The antiques section is filled with so many quirky things that I wish I could bring home. This little fellow surprised me :D

The crafts section wasn’t bad as well. There were lots of handmade goodies, from baby boots to avant garde capes. I wish Singapore had something like that where artists can showcase and sell their creations.

Deer feet cutleries. Probably not dishwasher safe. Maybe some time ago, in some household, a family had a cabinet full of taxidermy cutleries.

Paris. I did not spend much time there, and Valentine’s Day in Paris was not nearly as romantic as it sounds. I should really visit Paris again in the spring or summer, it is a rather dreary place in the winter.

Can’t fault the architecture though, I don’t think anything I have seen or read prepared me for that. They are truly breathtaking in person. This is the Louvre from the car.

A little town in south western Germany. While I do love the busy city life, a little respite in a small german village was really welcome. It does feel odd that the nearest mart was a 30 minute drive away though, I’m too used to the city for my own good. I really do agree with German food, though! It is embarrassing to say how much weight I gained on this trip.

I think I don’t take enough pictures when I am overseas. It is a chore to pull out a dslr from your bag every time, and it is not viable to have it out all the time. Unless you want to be a target for muggers and pickpocketers, in which case I recommend flashing neon signs to complete your outfit. That said, if you want to know where to shop in these places, do ask us! Trust me, we spent a great deal of time researching that.

Exactly 50 points!

Anyway, we are ashamed to say that our birthday is already over but the both of us have been too bogged down with real-life matters to properly celebrate it online. We are extremely grateful for the support all of you have been showing us and we truly appreciate it. I am glad for other blogs and I am gonna let them finish, but Monoxious has the best readers of all time! Of all time! We have come a long way since we started with just 4 readers a day to what we are now, and I feel just like a proud mother watching this blog growing and evolving with time. Nursing instincts aside, we feel that it is only appropriate to thank all of you by bringing something new to the table each time we post. Without all of you reading, there wouldn’t be Monoxious at all.

Before this turns into a sappy thank-you speech, I would just like to say that there are many new and exciting changes that have already been set in motion. We value your inputs and opinions that we have been receiving in our comments section and especially our formspring, and have taken all of these into consideration with our upcoming plans! So if you wish to give Monoxious a birthday gift, please do not be afraid to give us feedback on this blog and also to tell us what you would like to see more of or new things for us to include here.

Love,

Arissa & Dawn
