In case this post isn’t obvious enough, I am absolutely obsessed with cropped tops and you know how things go down with Dawn and I; once we are obsessed with something, we end up buying multiples of it.

That is the story of how I ended up with two more cropped tops from ASOS.

The UNIF Garter Skirt had been lying in my closet for quite some time and I wasn’t able to find a nice cropped top to go with it but now that summer is approaching, there are more cropped tops available online! I love the corset details and the fan-shaped lacing reminds me so much of medical corsets. It’s a little hard to sit down cause there are some bonings in the front which gets in the way.

I am also sporting TEAL HAIR now! I never really thought teal was my colour but the green undertones from my last hair colour will give it a turquoise colour when the teal fades out!

In case why anyone is wondering WHY my hair isn’t frizzy and fried after all that colouring and bleaching, it’s all thanks to Hairloom’s O3 treatment ($95 for all hair-length!!!!). Prior to the treatment, my hair was tangled even at my length and it was hard to dry my hair properly for fear of breakage. The treatment really saved it and the effects are pretty long-lasting as well. They are giving away a free O3 hair treatment when you colour your hair with them from now until 30 June 2013!

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Skirt: UNIF Garter Skirt (sadly, out of stock everywhere now)
  • Cropped top with strappy cut out neck: ASOS
  • Shoes: Acne Atacoma
  • Hair by Hairloom

This brutal weather is seriously sapping every last ounce of energy away from me. If there is one thing I don’t like about Singapore, it is that we deal in absolutes like Siths. It is either ridiculously hot outside, or below freezing indoors. There never seem to be a comfortable zone in-between. I just want to wear the same outfit both outdoors and in movie theatres without experiencing such extreme fluctuations!

(Going off on a tangent, my mum commented that this jacket reminded her of what people wore in the 80′s. Seems like we are really experiencing a retro blast this summer!)

Scored these earrings from Emoda during the summer sales in Japan. The oversized tassels really aid in making your face appear smaller! Something I desperately need.

Elizabeth & James wedges c/o Shopbop. They are every inch as comfortable as they look – and I was really impressed by how fast these shoes came in the mail! I will be talking more about them on a later date.

Outfit:

  • Floral Jacket: Zara
  • Top: Zara
  • Skirt: m)phosis
  • Wedges: Elizabeth & James
  • Earrings: Emoda

For people who are unaware, Lady Gaga was in town last week for a concert which also explains the lime green tag that around my wrist. The queue was quite insane and I don’t think I could be as committed as the boy who got the monster key (first person at the mosh pit line gets the key y’all). I got a self-congratulatory number 85 and it’s shameful considering how I would consider myself “too old for this”. Famous last words anyone?

My shoes also decided to give up on me that faithful day. En route to the concert hall, I broke one of my left heel. I lost it when DJ Zedd was spinning pre-concert, my group was the only one cheering at the Legend of Zelda theme and I promptly broke the other heel. The rest of the concert was spent exercising my calves and being really grateful that my boyfriend is there to provide emotional and actual support.

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Dress: The Scarlet Room
  • Faux leather shorts: m)phosis
  • Stockings: some stocking shop in Harajuku
  • Mirrored skeleton bracelets: Evol Heist
  • Shoes: Taobao
  • Leather thorn headband: DIY

Headed to hampstead heath a while back to help a friend for her shoot, but I couldn’t resist badgering people to help snap a few pictures of me as well. The little window of sunshine we had has finally passed and we are back to the usual dreary, grey, and drizzly London skies.

I really don’t know how to dress myself in warm weather anymore. It seems that I have left all my summer clothes back in Singapore! Maybe that is why people always like to gripe about how Singaporeans don’t dress up – when the weather’s so hot, I can fully understand why the need to be fashionable becomes secondary.

  • Rabbit mask: Midnight Zodiac on Etsy
  • Scarf: Hermès
  • Top: Topshop
  • Skirt: H&M

Some clothes need to come with instructional booklets. This Ann Demeulemeester vest been in my possession since 2009 but I still have no idea how to wear it the way the designer intended it to be worn. I just throw it up, let it land on me and tie the strings together. True story.

The goal of the day was to channel some Ann.D with the asymmetrical skirt (circa s/s 2010) and Ann.D lookalike sandal boots from Jeffrey Campbell which is still one of my favorite pair of shoes to date. This pair is in fact my second pair (yes, I bought 2 of the same pair of shoes) cause I wore the first one to death. Let’s hope this pair will last me a couple more years.

I have to admit I was feeling pretty great about the outfit until I saw the photos, I think looked really stumpy. I also hope no one thought I was trying to pull a Jolie that day. Higher heels should fix the stumpy leg problem I hope. My boyfriend has also done me a great favor by keeping my face out of focus, he seems to reallllllly like my Helmut Lang top and necklace (I see what you did there.)

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Asymmetrical Bra top: Helmut Lang
  • Draped Vest: Ann Demeulemeester
  • Asymmetrical skirt: Taobao
  • Ann Demeulemeester replica shoes: Jeffrey Campbell for LF stores
