Just a tiny glimpse of what is to come for New York Fashion Week. My favourites so far are from Hervé Léger and Rodarte (as usual!)

Hervé Léger took a break from all that bandage details they were so famous for a year ago (which honestly, is getting just a tad stale). It is replaced with belted elements, such as the waist cincher on the left and the wonderful harness neckline on the right. Camels, tans and blacks are still very much in vogue.

Rodarte’s collection is breath taking. I am seriously loving the maxi length coats, I would think they will be one of the big things this fall/winter season. This silhouette is perfection, truly. Rodarte’s collection consists of the same neutral palette – white, camel and black. I think a maxi coat or dress in either of these colours will be really trendy! Unfortunately I don’t think I am tall or lanky enough to pull this off, however tempting it is.

Yes while blogging about my Brume Hoodie from Complex Geometries, I was wondering to myself when the new Spring/Summer collection would be out. Lo and behold, it was right there.

As any Spring collection would usually have, it’s light colours. Nothing surprisingly ground breaking from Complex Geometries but I like that they’ve remained true to their brand by constantly creating exceptional individual pieces that are unique. I am really into that chiffon outer the male model is wearing.

And to all our readers celebrating Chinese New Year, 新年快乐, 万事如意!

Pre-Fall collections don’t get much attention, even from most fashion labels. Alexander Wang has been consistently delivering collection after collection from his studio.

Prefall collection this year for Alexander Wang returns him to his roots. Basic androgyny and clean lines. His pieces are so wearable and I’m not surprised to see fashion bloggers coveting them.

Those shoes look pretty comfortable to wear too.

This marks the first of the many runway reviews to come for Spring Summer 2011. Is is after all, hunting fashion week season.

But before I start, I regret to inform you that we will not be reviewing Alexander Wang this season, all because he refused to use black. Yes, he has broken our hearts by doing that. Give us a season to mope about this.

We get down to business with Kimberly Ovitz.

Kimberly Ovitz presents to us this season a collection with very clean lines and geometric blocks. the silhouette is straight with nothing extremely complex. I’ve been lusting for a good shirt-dress since ages ago.

And what’s better than a draped jacket? A long draped jacket of course.

I have to say that I really love the shoes too. I’d probably describe them as slouchy looking hoofs for some reason.

The Alexander Wang Resort 2011 collection is nothing to scream about, just like most in-between major season’s collections. (ie Pre-fall). Alexander Wang’s collections is one of the labels which we seem to make regular reviews about. This season, we see a continuation of design details from the Fall/Winter 2010, like the deconstructed blazer.

There is the socks+sandals combination which most people still have issues with, but I have more issues with this model’s eyebrows not matching her hair colour. :/

I really love the pleated waistline of these pants although the length doesn’t appeal much to me.

I like the whole relaxed feel that the collection is giving. On their own, they’re definitely pieces one can picture themselves wearing.

Overall, not very exciting. Let’s hope the new Spring/Summer 2011 collection won’t disappoint. :)
