Just when I thought my sheer maxi skirts and dresses are too last season, Ann Demeulemeester decided to breathe life into this seemingly old trend. I was so ready to give up on my Cheap Monday chiffon skirt.

This season, Ann Demeulemeester seems to be missing the usually coveted accessories like belts and hair accessories though we’re spotting some (what I think is leather) hats. The choker seems interesting although I really hope to see a closeup picture of it before I decide if I like them. The hats are not really my thing and the shoes seems to be slightly less exciting this season as well.

What I do love is how chiffon flows in such an ethereal manner when you walk. It’s always one of my favorite fabrics to turn to when I choose to layer and it seems effortless how Ann Demeulemeester is doing it here.

Stripes and grids take center stage in the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Gareth Pugh. He is a pure genius with structure and fabrics, I’ve mentioned this before in my previous runway review for him but he’s taken awesomeness to another level.

It was a beautiful play of sheer and opaque cleverly bound to create perspective with the lines. It was stripey but yet not quite. Well done Gareth, well done.

I don’t know how you guys feel about these shoes but I think that they are just too awesome to be true and I’m dying to have them.

Our first picks from Spring/Summer 2012 so far.

All I can think of is how beautifully clean and minimal this is. This is my favorite T by Alexander collection yet. I want to embrace these silhouettes right away. Now, can we just skip over winter this year?

It’s been a few weeks into Fashion week all over the world. I thought I was going to just let it slip pass while I contemplate on the meaning of life/poop/get fat procrastinate and pretend I forgot all about it.

Then, I had to come across images of the Gareth Pugh F/W collection. My mind proceeds to get blown, constructing memes in my head like “GARETH PUGH, Y U SO AWESOME?”

This model walks like a samurai.

The collection is a perfect embodiment and demonstration of how the colour black is not boring as long as there is a play on textures and silhouette. The use of semi-shiny leather and matte fabric is simply godly.

Gareth Pugh’s style has always been very architectural and balancing the masculinity of structure with softness of drapes has always been his forte.

Sci-fi priest!! Or knight in civvies!!

If it’s a collection to jump-start me out of my procrastination, it has to be good. Thank you Gareth Pugh for getting me on Fashion Week mode. :D

Just a tiny glimpse of what is to come for New York Fashion Week. My favourites so far are from Hervé Léger and Rodarte (as usual!)

Hervé Léger took a break from all that bandage details they were so famous for a year ago (which honestly, is getting just a tad stale). It is replaced with belted elements, such as the waist cincher on the left and the wonderful harness neckline on the right. Camels, tans and blacks are still very much in vogue.

Rodarte’s collection is breath taking. I am seriously loving the maxi length coats, I would think they will be one of the big things this fall/winter season. This silhouette is perfection, truly. Rodarte’s collection consists of the same neutral palette – white, camel and black. I think a maxi coat or dress in either of these colours will be really trendy! Unfortunately I don’t think I am tall or lanky enough to pull this off, however tempting it is.
