Just a tiny glimpse of what is to come for New York Fashion Week. My favourites so far are from Hervé Léger and Rodarte (as usual!)

Hervé Léger took a break from all that bandage details they were so famous for a year ago (which honestly, is getting just a tad stale). It is replaced with belted elements, such as the waist cincher on the left and the wonderful harness neckline on the right. Camels, tans and blacks are still very much in vogue.

Rodarte’s collection is breath taking. I am seriously loving the maxi length coats, I would think they will be one of the big things this fall/winter season. This silhouette is perfection, truly. Rodarte’s collection consists of the same neutral palette – white, camel and black. I think a maxi coat or dress in either of these colours will be really trendy! Unfortunately I don’t think I am tall or lanky enough to pull this off, however tempting it is.

Rodarte, I am shocked you reversed the colours for the seasons. Black for Spring/Summer and White for Fall/Winter? You rebel, you.

That aside, I believe your collection this season have fulfilled many girls’ matrimonial wish to wear Rodarte for their weddings. Good job.

However, this collection is a mish-mash of prints I do not understand. Then again, I’m not a very print person to begin with. Either way, this season’s collection somehow “not quite Rodarte” but at the same time, it is. How do you explain this ironic statement of mine? I don’t know either.

The neutral tones and interesting textures reminds me of this Japanese street brand called h.Naoto. They have a sub-line called Gramm which garments are made up of a mix of different fabrics and prints.

Not a plug, but this is their site, you can go compare it.>>> h.Naoto webstore go look for the line called “Gramm”.

I like how the dresses are wispy and almost fantasy-like. I even like the ghostly pale skin and smokey silver-grey eyeshadow.

Looking at the closeups, Rodarte has incorporated similar details from the dresses to the shoes.

I am a little confused by the embroided organza pants. I like how it is being paired up with the rest of the outfit, but I honestly can’t think of another way they can be coordinated.

Love the wallpaper print on sheer fabric.

Multi-layering of socks and tights make for my favorite shot of the details in this collection.

There’s no denying it. Thigh high boots are awesome even if they border on being somewhat of a footwear belonging to a hooker’s wardrobe. They’re sexy and they draw attention and this Fall, we’re seeing it all over the runway.

Here are some of my favorites:

These are classy and stylish looking thigh highs. I think they’d go with a variety of looks.

I absolutely love the garters that are holding them up. I am contemplating a DIY just to make some garters for my thigh high boots.

I would absolutely die for these. They fit on the models like a dream and straps wound around the entire leg, yes please~!!!!

These are some interesting looking ones with minimal detailing but the ruffle at the thigh area is much love.

Rick owens
Rick Owens

These boots boggle my mind. I have no idea how they are contructed it just seems to go against the laws of nature but man… I want them so.

And catching on this thigh high boots trend, I scored myself a pair of awesome thigh high boots from Zara. Extremely unlikely as I was walking pass the Zara in Oxford Street, London. My eyes caught a pair of thigh high boots, dragged the store assistant outside, pointed at them and said : ” I would like these please.”

Next thing I know, I was in the queue paying for them. It’s absolutely crazy trying to attempt to wear them in Singapore. I look forward to Fall/Winter when I can fnally show them off~!!!
