I have a love-hate relationship with New York, most of the time I love it, the times I do hate it is when it’s winter or when the subway station smells like pee. New Yorkers are really generous with their compliments (although I am also inclined to believe that Americans and Europeans are generally more generous with their compliments, Singaporeans just stare. BE WARNED).

Belvedere Castle in Central Park

I had the chance to visit the Met for the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition before it ends.

The Met remains one of my favorite museums to date. There were a few Rodin pieces on exhibit along the queue for the Savage Beauty exhibition.

There’s no photography allowed in the exhibition, I did manage to sneak one photo where the camera is at the right height and angle. Tears were streaming down my face as I was walking through the exhibition, if you saw a crazy girl like that, it’s probably me. It was so overwhelming and I was so glad I took the time to go down for it.

Crazy installation made me look pixellised. :D I am easily amused.

NYC is a city with plenty of awesome architecture. I can see why Ted Moseby is so in love with it.

New Yorkers might find this place familiar. It is indeed the washroom in Saks Fifth Avenue. I was bathed in a golden light when I walked in and demanded my companions to take photos of me while I posed. You might find it weird and possibly disbelieving but I’ve always found sunlight very different from the ones we have in the tropics. The sun hits the earth at a very different angle.

It was -9°C that Saturday. I remember it wasn’t crowded at all despite the weekend. The cold has probably deterred many from shopping. I remember being sooooo grateful for the sukiyaki dinner I had.

And for peeps who can’t really see what’s going on in the pic, here’s an idea (I couldn’t find the exact draped cardigan so the replacement will have to do)

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Wool Jacket with harness: Topshop Unique
  • Draped Cardigan: Forever 21
  • Jeans: H&M
  • Boots: H&M

Another pic from the collaboration between zemotion (Zhang Jingna) and myself. New York City is made of win, dressing up makes you feel powerful. I am ready to take on the world.

A sudden burst of sunlight through the skyscrapers makes for an opportunity to take advantage of the ever-changing sunlight in Manhattan. We had to cross the road several times to take this photo, it was quite hilarious.

Outfit break down:

  • Inner black slip dress: H&M
  • Long sleeved top with cobweb details: Alice Auaa
  • Silk chiffon vest: Ann Demeulemeester
  • Tights: Music Legs (which I bought from Camden in London, but I believe Urban Outfitters has them too.)
  • Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell for LF stores.
  • Circle scarf: m)phosis

Do remember to vote for us.

Too awesome for words.

A Monoxious first, collaborating with zemotion aka Zhang Jingna a good friend and my most favorite photographer of all time.

We had fun running around New York City yesterday taking photos of each other, both of us travel pretty often and it’s hard for us to meet up in Singapore. Instead, we meet up in Beijing, Tokyo and most recently, New York.

This shot was taken in Bryant Park where they had cleared the lawn for sprinkling, the random chairs that are still left there are pretty surreal looking. We loved it so much. The sun was so fickle and there were so many lighting problem but we emerged victorious.

Her hair colour looks awesome under the sun, I got the flare in her face but she likes this shot so yeahhhh.

Outfit breakdown:

  • Skirt: Osmose
  • Tank top: Nicholas
  • Knit Cardigan: Ann Demeulemeester
  • Necklace: random store from Studio-Alta, Shinjuku.

Much love to zemotion for the opportunity for collaboration. Meet up soon~!
