Our Ann Demeulemeester epine leather thorn inspired hairband brought out for a spin! I love the way it looks and we’ve had compliments from store owners when we were out shopping that day.

These shoes were hidden too far back in the shoe closet for me to notice them, but I was suddenly reminded that I had them so I had to pull them out, perfect for the printed mesh socks that was all the rage when I visited Tokyo. Almost every single girl with open-toed sandals was spotted with fancy crew length socks as well.

This cape-like mini dress is ideal for our weather cause it’s light an airy. I love the way it swishes around when I turn.

New camera taken out, unfortunately, I didn’t charge the battery thinking that the battery life is that of a DSLR. It died on me before I could have any important pictures taken.

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Mini dress: The Scarlet room
  • Shoes: Sonia Rykiel for H&M
  • Socks: Harajuku, Tokyo
  • Rose thorn hairband: DIY (as shown here)
  • Camera: Fujifilm X100

This post was scheduled days before disaster struck in Japan. We thought about simply deleting this post… But we are leaving it here as a bitter-sweet reminder to ourselves of what a beautiful country Japan was, and will always be. The kindness and the silent resilience the Japanese have shown in these times of adversity makes the country, if not the world, a more beautiful place.

It is easy for everyone not directly affected to ignore that this is happening and go on with their lives, but it will be great if we could all think of not only ourselves for even a day. All we ask is that we do not forsake them in their time of need and do whatever we can to help them recover from this disaster.

Right now, we are praying hard that the nuclear reactors remain stable and that the missing will be found unharmed. We are hoping for the best for anyone who have friends or family they have not heard from yet.

Here is what Harajuku looks like now

It is really touching to read what some have to say on this site

“It’s pitch dark but we’ve never seen so many beautiful stars. Look up, Sendai! -conversation at the quake site.”

“Last night when I was tired out waiting for the train at the station, the homeless people gave me one of their cardboards to prevent the cold… even though we usually ignore them in daily life… So warm.”

If there is one thing you should know about japanese street trends, it’s that when it hits, you wouldn’t be able to miss it unless you are blind. You can walk down a street and literally spot a dozen girls sporting the same trends. I admit that I am smitten by a few of these trends myself, and will be high lighting some of the most prominent trends this spring/summer season!

The little cotton dress: Light-coloured cotton dresses ranging from mid thigh to maxi length. Maxi dresses are especially popular.

Top: self-made, Pants: Express

Another one of those outfit posts.

The glasses are for an extra geekiness because we know g33ks rule the world. I love how this top makes me look as though I have a cape. I would pretend to be the world’s most awesome spy with this outfit. Ignore my exceedingly large bicep, I know I look like a man.

I was in Tokyo during Golden week this year.

The weather was awesome and perfect for layering unlike the humid weather we usually get back home in Singapore. I have been obsessed with pairing the engineer boots with everything cause they’re so comfortable and versatile.

It seems like everyone and their dog owns a pair of harem pants these days. Singaporean label, M)phosis seems to stock up a fair bit of them coupled with extremely wearable basics.
