Winter is upon us and it’s finally time to layer up and keep warm. Leather trimming and accents make for a good texture contrast when layering up in an all black outfit. Madly in love with the Jil Sander bag, I’ve been looking all over for a spacious and minimalist looking one.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Right here in Singapore we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but any reason for a good meal is a cause for celebration.

The Gareth Pugh x MAC collection  was released on 23 November in USA. Guess who went ahead and bought too much makeup?

Prior to being at the store I only had intentions on getting the makeup pouch cause it looks spacious enough for my makeup. Upon reaching the store, I was sold on how awesome the packaging looks and how beautiful some of the colours are.

The iridescence of the nail polishes got me really excited. Pictured here are Hyper and Ascension.

I am a HUGE fan of nude lipsticks, I never really believed I’d look good in any other colours but the purple lipstick (featured in the print) is too gorgeous to pass up. Purple and plum are very “Fall” colours and who knows, I might try and pull it off somehow.

Pictured here are the colours Restrict and Fervent.

I also got the pigments in Guise. The rest of the eyeshadow colours weren’t fully released yet for some reason and the blush wasn’t really suited for my skintone.

And here’s the pouch that got me waking up at 8am in the morning to go to the MAC store. Apparently, I wasn’t the first one who got there. This pouch was the last piece they had in the store. >:3

For those interested, this is how it looks like inside. The pouch features handy slots for your brushes and a compartment for all the makeup. I don’t have a measuring tape but I’d estimate it to be about 17-20cm?

The zipper pull is awesomely detailed.

The collection will be out in Singapore in December exclusively at Tangs. I hope those interested will be able to get their hands on it.

ghfsadgjaskdastru!!! Hngggggg!!

The Gareth Pugh x Mac collection has been announced and will be available in US on 23Nov and the rest of the world in December. The nail polishes are looking very good but the biggest draw for me is the makeup pouch.

Pure perfection. Priced at US$75 though. :( My wallet weeps.

Stripes and grids take center stage in the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Gareth Pugh. He is a pure genius with structure and fabrics, I’ve mentioned this before in my previous runway review for him but he’s taken awesomeness to another level.

It was a beautiful play of sheer and opaque cleverly bound to create perspective with the lines. It was stripey but yet not quite. Well done Gareth, well done.

I don’t know how you guys feel about these shoes but I think that they are just too awesome to be true and I’m dying to have them.

Admittedly, I have never really been a fan of Hong Kong. I thought the shopping there was pretty ordinary and obviously, I’ve been shopping in the wrong places, that or I haven’t been there in  long time so everything is fresh and new to me.

Bargaining with the Hongkies (?) is a pain in the ass, they’re rude and they quote ridiculous prices that you have to get down to at least 50% of what they quote or else it’s a ripoff. Someone tried to charge me US$30 bucks for a card reader. Seriously! (I might’ve even snorted out loud) By the time I was almost out the door, the price was down to less than US$. I shit you not.

So anyway, back to the good shopping.

I was outlet shopping and then I went to H&M.

I ended up buying all these at H&M and that is on top of the shoes that I managed to find at the outlet mall that I went to.

I think leather shorts are a staple. I got myself 2!

I’ve been eyeing these accessories ever since I visited the Singapore H&M Showroom. I was actually quite surprised to see them as I had not expected them out at the stores yet. Hurray for unexpected find.

Another item that I had my eye on when I was in the showroom. So glad to see it in the stores. The clasp is pretty steampunk according to Dawn.

The clasp on this bag makes it really convenient for me to retrieve stuff from it.

I didn’t manage to include these Gareth Pugh boots in the main picture. I must’ve forgotten. Anyway! These were from the outlet mall that I mentioned and I am loving the contrast in the materials used. There’s also a patent + suede version but I am a klutz and will most likely scuff it to death.

These Rick Owens were from the Lane Crawford outlet and they are amazing to wear. The incline is a little steep but I guess it will take a little getting used to.

I am definitely taking my words back now. I love shopping in Hong Kong and I will definitely look forward to a trip there!
