New Yorkers might find this place familiar. It is indeed the washroom in Saks Fifth Avenue. I was bathed in a golden light when I walked in and demanded my companions to take photos of me while I posed. You might find it weird and possibly disbelieving but I’ve always found sunlight very different from the ones we have in the tropics. The sun hits the earth at a very different angle.

It was -9°C that Saturday. I remember it wasn’t crowded at all despite the weekend. The cold has probably deterred many from shopping. I remember being sooooo grateful for the sukiyaki dinner I had.

And for peeps who can’t really see what’s going on in the pic, here’s an idea (I couldn’t find the exact draped cardigan so the replacement will have to do)

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Wool Jacket with harness: Topshop Unique
  • Draped Cardigan: Forever 21
  • Jeans: H&M
  • Boots: H&M

A belated Happy New Year to everyone!! I have no idea how the above image is relevant, but I like it so I shall just share it with everyone here. It’s Frankenstein and a Brain galloping unicorns across a beautiful rainbow, what’s there not to like? Anyway, I have heard an old wives’ tale saying that the first dream you have on New Year will be a precursor of the events to come. I sure hope not, because I am pretty sure my dream involved a haunted hotel room which I was stuck in.

New Year to me just means that my birthday is fast approaching. Soon, I shall tenderly bade the last wisps of my teenage-hood goodbye. I am really not in habit of celebrating my birthday, but since I have 1) Polyvore 2) Ass loads of time, why not create a birthday wish list? It might have been useful though, had I created it more than 3 days before my birthday and is not completely unattainable. But I obviously didn’t, so it’s just a general wishlist of some of the items I really like as of late!

  • 1. CATS. Ok kidding it’s the belt
I realized that belts are one of the things sorely lacking in my wardrobe. I like wrap belts, but I really do need to get myself a boyfriend belt because some of my clothes are threatening to fall off my hips.
  • 2. Space Skirt by Christopher Kane
  • I really like Christopher Kane’s Resort 2011 collection. Space motif may be the epitome of Hipsterism these days, but I will still wear the crap out of this skirt.

  • 3. Drapey cardigan, All Saints
  • I want anything All Saints, basically. I would be so broke (not that I am already not) if All Saints had a store here. I wonder if they do giftcards.

  • 4. Skull accessories
  • I think Pamela Love’s accessories are ridiculously overpriced, so I will be happy with a cheaper one from Etsy. I’d rather support small shops than a big name designer, anyway.

  • 5. Bralette
  • It would go so well with the skirt. Simply ferosh

  • 6. Scarf
  • I love wearing scarves. I like that a scarf can be worn so many different ways, and this one would look especially cute on my future Mulberry Bayswater. Which brings me to my next point:

  • 7. Mulberry Bayswater
  • One day you will be mine. One day.

  • 8. Sky high wedges
  • I am especially loving this pair by Joes from Solestruck. No shoes are too high for me.

  • 9. Leather cuffs / Bracelets
  • I really like the look of these. Extra points if they come with charms!

  • 10. Socks and Tights
  • I wear through mine really quickly. I will appreciate some nice stockings and socks!

And for anyone that managed to wade through this wishlist, here’s a question for all of you.

I’m thinking of doing a ‘Best of 2010′ series, where I can post what I think are my best purchases / memories / beauty products / pictures of ChouChou / you get it of 2010. If you have any suggestions on things you would like to see, please leave us a comment!

Here’s your reward for getting so far ♥

Arissa and I went down to Singapore Toys, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC) to lend our support to a couple of friends as well as to pretend to be kids for a little while. You can never be too old for toys and games! Simone Legno, designer of Tokidoki was there as well, and we never know he had so many (really hardcore) fans in Singapore! Had the queue for not been so long, we would have brought Arissa’s Tokidoki makeup pouch for signing. :D

Decided to wear my tallest pair of shoes that day. They remind me a little of Vivienne Westwood‘s Rocking Horse Shoes from the front! I might dye the soles black some day when I’m not feeling too lazy, I am not a big fan of cork soles and I really miss doing DIYs on this blog. Sweater is a very recent purchase from the new Topshop/Topman flagship store in Knightsbridge. (There is always some confusion when we say Knightsbridge, because Arissa and I would think of Knightsbridge in London instead of Singapore. They really need to come up with more original names.) It’s pretty badass, although still a far, far cry from the flagship store in Oxford Circus. Definitely more selection than the other Topshops, though!

Faux fur keyfob. It is one of those things that will be so passé a few months later, but you can’t resist getting some while it is still trendy.

Love, love suspender tights. I really need to get more!

Kitty ring from a friend who just came back from Japan. It reminds me a little of Chousie Butts.

Outfit Breakdown:

  • Sweater: Topshop
  • Camisole (worn inside): H&M
  • Skirt: City Plaza
  • Suspender tights: Topshop
  • Shoes: Heatwave
  • Bag: m)phosis
  • Tail keyfob: Wholesale
  • Ring: Swimmer

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. December is truly a hectic, hectic month and this is only the beginning!

My “librarian” look. It’s somewhat matronly, but this was one of the days where I just want to swath up in voluminous fabrics and drink tea all day while reading a novel.

I think I attracted more looks in this outfit than anything else I have worn, and I have worn quite a number of bizarre things.

Outfit Breakdown:

  • Blouse: TopShop
  • Skirt: FemmeX
  • Shoes: Forever 21

Living in an urban city really doesn’t afford much inspiring shots. Or maybe we just need to try harder.

I love this dress I bought in Hong Kong early this year. Unfortunately it’s a little loose on the top for me. I never try on clothes in stores (I have an odd aversion to doing so, unless I am really unsure) so ill fitting clothes happen too often to me. I really miss shopping in Hong Kong! Shopping there is really about the small independent shops that caters to very specific styles. One thing I hate about shopping in Singapore is that while you do get a lot of small shops here as well, their styles are all over the place. I just don’t see a direction in most of the shops here.

The stockings are from Forever 21! I fulfil all my stockings needs there. They are of decent quality, stock a wide variety and is most importantly, cheap. I haven’t been wearing stockings for a while now because of how swampy the weather has been.

Outfit Breakdown:

  • Jacket: H&M
  • Dress: Hong Kong
  • Tights: Forever 21
  • Shoes: Siren
