I got my second Swacket recently from Harputs Union in the San Francisco store and I realised that I’ve never featured it on our blog.

I’ve always been a fan of the Swacket and the many ways that it can be worn. Here’s 7 ways you can wear your Swacket.

This is like default mode.

When you tighten the waist band and hike it up to the waist, it becomes a shorter cropped jacket with draped neckline.

Tying a belt around the waist gives it a more defined silhouette.

There’re snaps at the back at the middle where you can also attach the snaps.

This is when you wear it upside down.

It even becomes a hood when you attach the snaps when it’s worn upside down.

When you put the hood down and pull it at the shoulders, it has a boat neck collar.

The Swacket is really my favorite outer to wear. What’s your favorite?

As summer marches steadily into Fall, I am sure many of you are wondering what exactly is stylish this season and what exactly you should wear. Well, look no further than whatshouldiwearbymango! You can find inspiration on this site for various looks, and even styling tips and videos added every week! Even though we do not get any seasonal changes in Singapore, there’s no harm getting into the mood for fall by wearing rich oranges and reds reminiscent of the changing leaves. Here are my two favourite looks of the collection!

I know we primarily wear black, but I truly love the rich colours in this collection as well. Some pieces, such as the chiffon blouse on the right, are representative of the Fall/Winter collection, yet light enough for Singapore weather. The fitted boyfriend blazers are always a smart choice to add a certain edge to an outfit and I absolutely adore the mid-calf skirt on the left!

I remember buying a coat from them last winter. Usually I do not like to buy clothes from high street brands because I am afraid of bumping into someone wearing the same clothes, but after stepping foot into Mango, I must say that my impression changed drastically. Not to mention the coat held up like a dream, despite rain, heavy snow and even hailstorms when I went travelling. I find them to be a great source of accessories and clothes that are versatile and can be mixed and matched to create different looks.

Hence, Arissa and I jumped at the chance when Mango approached us to create a look using their pieces for an competition: Fashion bloggers in Singapore are to create an outfit from MANGO’s FW 2010 collection based on the look of the season: the 70′s. All of you can head over to CozyCot and vote for your favourite look from 13 September to 18th October!

The prize of the competition will be 750SGD in Mango voucher for the winning blogger! Yes, you got that right. 750 SGD worth of clothing is nothing short of a complete wardrobe overhaul. The first runner up gets 250 SGD, and the second 150 SGD in vouchers as well. In this case, everyone can be a winner, including you! Everyone who have voted for the site stands a chance of winning 250 SGD in vouchers. If that is not enough incentives for you to sign up and vote, I don’t know what is.

Why should you check out this competition?

✖ I like to surf around the internet for clothing inspiration. Sites like LookBook are great, but most of the items worn there are either way out of your budget, not sold in Singapore, or just unattainable in some other way. With this competiton, all the items presented are sold at an affordable price so you can easily purchase any item that has caught your fancy!

✖ The reason why most of us surf fashion blogs is because a blogger has a certain style we like. On this site, not only can you see various bloggers style and coordinate the pieces of this collection to suit their personal style, it also shows you how different each piece can look when worn with different items, and inspire you to style the same item to suit your personal fashion sense!

Some of you would claim that Singaporeans lack style and fashion sense -  Let this fashion blogger competition show you otherwise!

Based on the theme of the 70′s, Arissa and I had to scour the shop for clothes we feel is representative of this era. It was not an easy task as neither of us have much experience in retro-inspired clothing. That, and the fact they we kept on being distracted by lovely pieces of accessories and clothing. Here’s what we came up with:

✖ Off-white vest

✖ Off-white blouse with pintucks

✖ Brown leather belt

✖ High waisted shorts

✖ Platform sandals

All 5 items are by Mango. If you like any of the pieces, head there now before they are gone!

Nothing spells luxury like Haute Couture.

This Fall, we’re looking at our favorite labels in the Fall 2010 Collections and picking out the trends.

With the exception of Christian Dior, most of the collections in the Haute Couture Fall 2010 spotted earthy neutrals and blacks, going back to the most basics and elegant of hues.

We are also seeing a lot of sheer fabrics being used, with designers playing on the diaphanous qualities of organza and chiffon.

Alongside translucent fabrics like those mentioned above, we’re also seeing the use of opulent laces and embellishments.

My favorite has to be the sheer cage dress from Valentino. It’s positively girly and I’m loving the bows.

Which is your favorite dress this Fall 2010?

Okay, everyone must’ve already know that I love Complex Geometries.

Following the popularity of the brand amongst fellow fashion bloggers like myself, they have managed to come up with yet another exciting collection.

The essence of this collection remains true to the core of their design vision, creating beautiful pieces that can be worn multiple ways.

I absolutely love the long grey outer and I’m dying to get my hands on them once they come out on the website in Fall.

More pics after the jump.

The Fall/ Winter 2010 major fashion shows have passed for a while now, so it’s time to collate what we have seen so far.

Aside from the obvious that there is alot of black going on, there’s alot of attention to collar and lapel detailing this season. I love draped jacket lapels and it’s pretty evident that I’m all excited over the F/W 2010 fashion shows. It’s been a good season and I’m looking forward to seeing all these jackets on actual people.

Rad Hourani makes use of multiple lapels and lightweight wools.

Helmut Lang is no stranger to using the draped jacket lapel detailing in their collection, this season they went for something slightly heavier using wool linings.

It’s no secret that Haider Ackermann’s collection for Fall/Winter is my favourite. Their jacket detailing makes my jaw drop everytime I look at it.

Gareth Pugh decides to one-up everyone by making use of one of the materials that is a bitch to sew; leather. I obviously have a love/hate relationship with it.

Love or hate draped jacket lapels? What do you think are the notable Fall/Winter trends for 2010?
