The Red Square in Moscow is one of the many city squares in Russia. The name doesn’t come from the colours of the bricks but rather from the Russian word красная which can mean both “red” or “beautiful”. красная (beautiful) was applied to the Saint Basil’s Cathedral which is in the vicinity which was later transferred to the square itself.

The Resurrection Gates were at some point demolished to allow heavy military vehicles to move through but later rebuilt after the fall of the Soviet Union.

There were people giving out free cans of Coca cola. A godsend for well needed boost of sugar in the middle of the day.

It was a pretty sunny day, in the backdrop is the GUM department store, spectacular building.

Another place I would like to visit! It looks lovely!

How do your feet feel after walking around in those? I try to look nice when I go on vacations, but since I’m a typical tourist that walks around everywhere because I want to see everything, I’m always wearing a basic sneaker/boot. Any recommendations/tips? I remember in one of your posts you said you went hiking in heels! I wish I could do that! 😀

hmm, I guess my feet are more or less conditioned to walk in them, but there are painful heels and there are comfortable ones. I think you’ll really have to judge for yourself when you wear them.
