The famous Sleeping Beauty castle of Disney was inspired by this real life castle built by King Ludwig II in the 19th century as a tribute to Richard Wagner. It’s just 2 hours away from Munich by train and promises a picturesque scenery on the way there.

The many murals in Neuschwanstein are scenes from many of Richard Wagner’s plays. You might be familiar with works such as “Tristan and Isolde” and “Parsifal”. Unfortunately, photography is not allowed within castle walls, but let’s go on this beautiful adventure together shall we?

The weather was beautiful. I consider myself lucky since it was raining the day before and after. It contributed to a much more magical fairytale experience.

Photos are allowed when you’re taking photos outside of the castle windows. Weird logic but as long as it’s allowed. The castle windows provide an excellent view of the mountains.

German sausages. Yum.

Decided to go with a more casual outfit since there’s some form of hiking involved. My travelling companions thought I was very brave to wear something with heels.

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • White Shift dress: Dong Dae Mun, Korea
  • Grey Cardigan: Dong Dae Mun, Korea
  • Felt cutout necklace: Doota, Korea
  • Boots: Esperanza

Unfortunately I was only there for a day. Germany is really beautiful to me, and most Germans I’ve met are like the friendliest and nicest people around.

Arissa is the one in the picture in this post. Dawn has slightly browner hair. :)

Neuschwanstein is located about 2hrs trainride away from Munich. It’s absolutely breath-taking. Wish you had visited.

Funny, i was looking for some DIY Fashion Blogs, found your site and the first picture I see is the same as if I look just out of my window, as I come from the little City Füssen near the Castle Neuschwanstein :-)
