I have personally chosen to build my outfits around the fuschia Balenciaga Giant Chic box bag. I have always loved Balenciaga bags for they are classic and timeless. Punk elements are also one of the prevailing trend in Spring/Summer 2011, and this fuschia bag adorned with the signature polished silvertone hardware will certainly bring an edge to every outfit! Not to mention the buttery soft lambskin, ahh… Balenciaga bags have attained the ‘IT’ status, and it’s truly well deserved!
Coordinate No. 1
I created a feminine look, partially inspired by Jill Stuart’s and Chanel’s choice of stark accented blacks and whites for this S/S 11. With a monochromatic outfit, all the attention will be drawn to the bright fuschia of the bag. To prevent the outfit from looking too “flat”, I chose sheer tights to create a little depth and texture.

This is a fun and casual coordinate I would wear for shopping. White, tan and nude are one of the more popular colours this spring season, so I paired a sheer knitted sweater with a soft nude dress. I was inspired by the soft billowing skirts of Lanvin’s spring collection for this look. The bunny ear headband and the Balenciaga bag adds a playful twist to this outfit.
Coordinate No.3
When one think of spring, florals and pastels come to mind. However, Balmain and Ann Demeulemeester’s runway looks are full of punk elements and asymmetrical cuts this spring. Draped biker jacket, sock garters and cat eye sunglasses – the only thing missing is a kickass bag.
