Nothing spells luxury like Haute Couture.

This Fall, we’re looking at our favorite labels in the Fall 2010 Collections and picking out the trends.

With the exception of Christian Dior, most of the collections in the Haute Couture Fall 2010 spotted earthy neutrals and blacks, going back to the most basics and elegant of hues.

We are also seeing a lot of sheer fabrics being used, with designers playing on the diaphanous qualities of organza and chiffon.

Alongside translucent fabrics like those mentioned above, we’re also seeing the use of opulent laces and embellishments.

My favorite has to be the sheer cage dress from Valentino. It’s positively girly and I’m loving the bows.

Which is your favorite dress this Fall 2010?

The Alexander Wang Resort 2011 collection is nothing to scream about, just like most in-between major season’s collections. (ie Pre-fall). Alexander Wang’s collections is one of the labels which we seem to make regular reviews about. This season, we see a continuation of design details from the Fall/Winter 2010, like the deconstructed blazer.

There is the socks+sandals combination which most people still have issues with, but I have more issues with this model’s eyebrows not matching her hair colour. :/

I really love the pleated waistline of these pants although the length doesn’t appeal much to me.

I like the whole relaxed feel that the collection is giving. On their own, they’re definitely pieces one can picture themselves wearing.

Overall, not very exciting. Let’s hope the new Spring/Summer 2011 collection won’t disappoint. :)

Gone are the draped jacket lapels and leather paneled pants in Helmut Lang’s Resort 2011 collection, a design characteristic which has been prominent in the last two seasons that they have came up with.

The capri length of these pants seems to be prominent lengths across most designers in the Resort 2011 collections. Not quite a big fan of it but draped details are always welcomed.

I like that the silhouette is clean and minimalistic, it really doesn’t take much to be stylish.

What I really enjoy seeing is this almost celestial looking print that i see on both Helmut Lang and Ann Demeulemeester’s S/S 2010 collection. I might even contemplate a DIY on this effect if I do figure it out.

To summerise, Helmut Lang doesn’t give us anything shocking this season, not that it is not to be expected but there is a general shift from its usual silhouette. The simplicity of it is rather boring, nothing really stands out or allows me to sit up and say “I WANT THIS!!! ” The look of this Resort collection seems to be rather achievable from purchasing items from street labels.

What do you think of this collection? Yay or nay?

Okay, everyone must’ve already know that I love Complex Geometries.

Following the popularity of the brand amongst fellow fashion bloggers like myself, they have managed to come up with yet another exciting collection.

The essence of this collection remains true to the core of their design vision, creating beautiful pieces that can be worn multiple ways.

I absolutely love the long grey outer and I’m dying to get my hands on them once they come out on the website in Fall.

More pics after the jump.

It’s official, I love Haider Ackermann. Last season, I talked about Phi who manages to impress me enough for me to feature the entire collection in a blog post. This season it is Haider Ackermann who left me tingling with goosebumps as I viewed the runway pictures.

The sculptural beauty of the entire collection left my jaw hanging. How beautiful yet how absolutely raw it all looks together. I’d imagine each individual piece being able to be worn differently.

Leather is definitely one of the key fabrics used this season. Laser-cut leather? It’s definitely a level higher.

The collars are draped to perfection, we’ve been seeing all kinds of draped collar this season (Helmut Lang, Gareth Pugh, Ohne Titel etc) but Haider Ackermann takes it up one notch by featuring billowing waves of leather wrapped around the neck which changes however the wearer wants it to look. Pure genius.

And I haven’t even begun raving about the zippered corset belts. Some of them were deliberately left undone with such careless grace that makes them even more covetable and eye-catching.

And this last dress is truly golden. I’m full of praise for this collection. Definitely my favorite out of all the runway collections so far.
