Sometimes I give myself a pat on the back for having some すばらしい skills at Photoshop. This horrible swollen eye will go unnoticed if I didn’t mention it. That being said, I’m sure at least 20 people are will be scrutinising my picture now.

This lovely organza top is bought by Conan (who will be lovingly known as Coco from now on) when he was sourcing for clothes for a photoshoot. I bought it from him after the shoot. :D

The Icon watch that I bought from MoMA is a replacement for my old one which died (dead pixel geddit geddit?). It’s one of those watches that I don’t mind replacing, the design is simple and worth keeping around.

My lovely shoes modelled with my pageant stance to show how they look like from both the front and side.

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Shirt: Uniqlo
  • Organza Top: H&M
  • Jeans: H&M
  • Watch: MoMa design store

Singapore can be pretty uninspiring at times, while I endeavor to take photos at nice spots, it can be really hard to keep other people out of the picture, take for example the nice family frolicking in the sun at the bottom right of the picture.

Outfit posts calls for wearing stuff that I just bought. In a true hyperbole and a half style, I shall “wear ALL the new things”.

The metal collar tipped blouse feels like it’s all the rage now. I personally found the one from Zara a little expensive and the collar tips a little too small. I like the size of the tips on the blouse that I have on. The shopping tote in Jil Sander style fits much more than it looks, being lightweight is a plus as I tend to carry a lot of things when I’m out.

These Simone Rocha knockoffs are the darling of my recent taobao haul. I haven’t gotten pictures of the haul but I decided to wear them out first. I love how they make people look twice. From far, it really looks like I am tiptoeing.

My hair has also faded into an unknown shade. It was a really really nice greyish brown but everything faded while I was in New York where I didn’t have the opportunity to take any photos of myself. Someone tried to insult my hair colour on Formspring saying that I look like a boy, I thought this fact has already been established when I tweeted my pre-dye bleached hair. Anyway, I desperately need a haircut and a new hair colour.

Black Outfit Breakdown:

We’ve been receiving questions on emails on how to shop on Taobao. Please note that we have written a helpful tutorial on how to shop there. You may wish to check it out.

Nothing makes photos more awesome than perfect lighting. I’ve often lament about how Singapore has crappy lighting cause we’re in the tropics but the day I had these photos taken made me eat those words.

I’m also using a new lens. If anyone is wondering, it’s the Canon 50mm f1.4 on a 5Dmkii body. We get asked pretty often what kind of camera/lens we use, it’s getting kinda dull.

Le’boyfriend was also the one taking photos and it seemed as though he’s getting really good at it. He was holding on to my camera for a while so I guess he got some practice. Now to train him into a “Colin”.

It’s quite funny cause he gets into all sorts of stances when taking photos. I’m used to having girls take photos for me and we’re a lot daintier (?) when switching camera angles. My boyfriend is just squatting and kneeling all over the place it’s hard to keep a straight face.

I often if wondered if Singaporeans had a unique dating culture like the Japanese. It seems like most girls in Singapore like to have their bags carried by their boyfriends. It will probably look fine if their bags are manly like the Proenza Schouler Shopping tote that I’m carrying but ladylike purses just look weird on men.

For the record, I hardly let him carry my bag unless I’m struggling with the weight. I like having my belongings near me cause I feel safer that way. If I lose my things, there will be no one to blame except myself.

Does anyone have a unique dating culture in their country they would like to share? It would be interesting to read about it.

My hair is turning a lot lighter, it looks more like a red than purple now. I think I like the colour best at this stage. :)

  • Knit cropped vest: Shilin night market, Taipei
  • Skirt: The Scarlet Room
  • Shoes: Wisteria Wedges, Topshop

I had my hair dyed! This is probably news to people who aren’t following our twitter. These were taken last week and by now it has faded to an unrecognizable rusty cherry red. Actually, I have no idea how to describe the colour right now.

Met up with Venetia for tea and also dinner. These photos were also taken by her! I’m so glad there’s someone to take photos for me when Dawn is not around.

This outfit also makes up part of the “White shirt series“, this time paired up with a shredded T-shirt and skirt.

My Country Road bag which has my Cheap Monday sunglasses hanging precariously on the handle.

These awesome Dsquared skate moss shoes were featured in the recent purchases post. It’s the first time I’m wearing them out cause Venetia requested to see them after I posted them on Instagram.

Black Outfit Breakdown

  • Skirt with zipper detail: Schwing Schwing
  • White shirt: Uniqlo
  • T-shirt: DIY
  • Bag: Country Road
  • Shoes: Dsquared
  • Necklace: H&M
  • Stockings/Tights: Topshop

If anything, I would wanna be known as the friend who has the most awesome shoes. New to the collection is a pair of shoes that was a lucky find in Amsterdam while I was out shopping with Dawn.

We chanced upon their winter sale season (which is really late considering how London usually has theirs in January) and there, these pair of shoes were, tucked right at the far right corner. Hovering above it was a neon pink sign which said “70% off”. My hands picked up these seemingly normal pair of booties until I felt some cold metal at the base.

It took me a few seconds to register it and when I did, I showed it to Dawn and there was probably some squealing involved. You know one of those things that helps you decide if you should seal the deal immediately?

The magic combination is usually “They’re the last pair.” and “It’s in my size!!!!!”

You know what happens next.

I love shoes that boggles people’s mind.

I got these Jeffrey Campbell Nightwalks when they had first came up. One thing to bear in mind, if that initial release is popular, you can count on the fact that JC will release at least 6 other shoes with the same shoe last but in different designs/fabrics. I lost count of the Nightwalk variations that they had released.

These are a pair of my older shoes but was never featured. The Topshop Wisteria. Extremely comfortable pair of shoes I would actually be okay partying in them.

Which are your favorite shoes at the moment?

*omake (oh-mah-kay) : おまけ or extra.
