After what is possibly the lengthiest winter in the history of recent memory, good weather has finally decided to grace us. I think I am getting too accustomed to the climate here though – it’s only 19℃ here and I am already sweating like Tyra Banks wearing a fat suit in July. May lord God and also Jesus save my soul when the height of summer actually arrives. I think I will be surviving on a steady diet of soda and ice cream.

I have noticed that I talk about the weather practically in every post. I can’t decide if I am turning British, or if the weather is truly the most interesting aspect of my appallingly boring life. Now that school’s out, all my days are spent watching marathons of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

urban decay

I don’t think ‘shame’ suffices to describe how I feel upon discovering Leake St. a couple weeks back – it lies literally across the road from my apartment and I have been living here for nearly a whole year. It’s a disused road/tunnel that has since been transformed into an authorised graffiti area, and I am not exaggerating when I say that it is a constantly changing landscape: there is always someone spraying and painting, and a piece never stays on the wall for longer than a week before it’s covered over by something new. I do think it’s worth a visit if you are in London, especially with it being a 1 minute walk away from Westminster Abbey and the London Eye.

Plus this tunnel leads to an awesome Thai eatery so that gets it an A+ in my books.

Wearing NARS semi-matte lipstick in Transeurope Express – it’s a very flattering deep rose in real life, and the pictures make it slightly more saturated than they really are!

It’s ridiculous how the weather in London teases you – one week it seems like we are finally seeing the arrival of Spring, and the next, it is as if we have moved up to the same latitude as Iceland. If anyone reading this is more in tune with the weather gods than I am, please pass on the message that this PMS-like fluctuation is really not an okay thing to do.

These pictures were taken on one of those rare warmer days – this week has seen a return to more siberian conditions, and it is just impossible to head anywhere without a warm coat.

I’ve found a new love for plummy lips with Burberry’s Lip Velvet in 308! The colour is so vibrant with just a single coat and it applies evenly despite me having the most chapped lips ever.

This Zara clutch reminds me of the Jil Sander lunch bags we did a DIY on. It comes with magnetic clasps at the top so you can also carry it with the shoulder straps!

Not too much of an outfit post this time, but there’s only so much you can do with limited space in your room and a 35mm… Excuses aside, I have a few outfit posts lined up and will blog about it once I’m back from the ski resort!! Would anyone like to read about Chamonix and skiing? No? Okay.

Anyway you can tell from the pictures here that my previously purple hair has faded to some greenish-blue concoction. I’m not too sure how to feel about it yet. I forgot how much maintenance dyed hair requires and I don’t have enough ££££ to touch it up every month.

This mini-shoot is just an excuse to shoot this Zara jacket I’ve had for months now. I’ve seen it worn e v e r y w h e r e in Singapore but it’s not fair cause it’s way too cold here to wear it until Spring!!!

For those who don’t follow me on Instagram…allow me to bleat about skiing again. And for those who do, dealwithit.gif.

Just kidding I love you all. Mostly.

I’ve travelled to a fair amount of places ever since moving here, but Chamonix-Mont-Blanc tops the list by far (followed closely by Amsterdam with Arissa). I discovered a few things there:

  1. I actually enjoy doing a physical activity
  2. Hostels are awesome places to stay in
  3. Saunas are even more awesome places to stay in
  4. I don’t even care that I broke all my fingernails and my toenail is turning black and falling off as I type this, and
  5. I sing really bad Karaoke when I am drunk.

Chamonix is barely a village when compared to London or Paris, but thanks to the awesome company I always have something to do, whether it is getting 2€ toffee vodka shots or waking up at 7am just to be the first people on the slopes. I’m ridiculously excited to be heading there again next week – I’m taking it as a Valentines’ Day present to myself (read: desperate attempt to justify spending)!

The skies are also endlessly blue because you are above the clouds. Skiing through them is a decidedly unpleasant experience: it is damp and I swear they taste funny.

No pictures of myself because fashion kind of takes a back seat when it’s -15ºC outside minus windchill…almost all the pictures of myself feature a dripping nose. Charming. And the thing about ski clothes is that the level of brightness is directly proportional to your skill level: only the best are allowed to carry off otherwise ridiculous colours like neon green and bright orange, mainly because no one can judge you even if you wear a bear costume, if you are that good.
