When I like a particular item, I buy multiples of it. I hope I am not the only one with this bad habit…

I saw the recent m)phosis sale as the perfect excuse for me to stock up on my favourite skirt. I am so glad to have snagged up a couple variations of it on discount! The original skirt is on the leftmost… as you can see, I’ve worn it so much that it has kind of lost its shape (and what you can’t see is that it has started to pill rather badly as well).

I’ve gotten comments that I am always seen wearing the same things – so let me just clarify here that yes, I do actually wash my clothes. I just have lots of variations of the same “type” of outfits, which is slightly better than being dirty, I hope.

On a separate note, some of you have noticed that I have sort of disappeared for the past month or so. (Thank you so much for your concern! I can now rest knowing that if I die alone or get abducted by a serial killer or something, at least someone out there will notice my disappearance.) I have been away on vacation for two weeks, and after coming back I’ve been preoccupied with preparing for an even longer trip out of town. The last quarter of the year is going to be hectic!

Admittedly, I have never really been a fan of Hong Kong. I thought the shopping there was pretty ordinary and obviously, I’ve been shopping in the wrong places, that or I haven’t been there in  long time so everything is fresh and new to me.

Bargaining with the Hongkies (?) is a pain in the ass, they’re rude and they quote ridiculous prices that you have to get down to at least 50% of what they quote or else it’s a ripoff. Someone tried to charge me US$30 bucks for a card reader. Seriously! (I might’ve even snorted out loud) By the time I was almost out the door, the price was down to less than US$. I shit you not.

So anyway, back to the good shopping.

I was outlet shopping and then I went to H&M.

I ended up buying all these at H&M and that is on top of the shoes that I managed to find at the outlet mall that I went to.

I think leather shorts are a staple. I got myself 2!

I’ve been eyeing these accessories ever since I visited the Singapore H&M Showroom. I was actually quite surprised to see them as I had not expected them out at the stores yet. Hurray for unexpected find.

Another item that I had my eye on when I was in the showroom. So glad to see it in the stores. The clasp is pretty steampunk according to Dawn.

The clasp on this bag makes it really convenient for me to retrieve stuff from it.

I didn’t manage to include these Gareth Pugh boots in the main picture. I must’ve forgotten. Anyway! These were from the outlet mall that I mentioned and I am loving the contrast in the materials used. There’s also a patent + suede version but I am a klutz and will most likely scuff it to death.

These Rick Owens were from the Lane Crawford outlet and they are amazing to wear. The incline is a little steep but I guess it will take a little getting used to.

I am definitely taking my words back now. I love shopping in Hong Kong and I will definitely look forward to a trip there!

So sorry for the long absence!!! Dawn was away for a longgggg vacation and I was so swarmed with work to have time to sit down to blog.

Anyway, good news for Singaporeans who are awaiting the opening of H&M in Singapore (finally!!) on September 2nd!

H&M Singapore has kindly granted us entry into their showroom and it was frankly speaking, much like being in Toy r us when I was a kid. Ian was showing me around and in my mind I was like “want, want WANT!!!”.

Here’s a teaser of what’s to expect when it finally opens in Singapore.

As you can see, we’re expecting lots of orange, camel and red this Fall!

It’s gonna be a picture heavy post so I am going to cut this here. Click on the “read more” button to load everything!

The Red Square in Moscow is one of the many city squares in Russia. The name doesn’t come from the colours of the bricks but rather from the Russian word красная which can mean both “red” or “beautiful”. красная (beautiful) was applied to the Saint Basil’s Cathedral which is in the vicinity which was later transferred to the square itself.

The Resurrection Gates were at some point demolished to allow heavy military vehicles to move through but later rebuilt after the fall of the Soviet Union.

There were people giving out free cans of Coca cola. A godsend for well needed boost of sugar in the middle of the day.

It was a pretty sunny day, in the backdrop is the GUM department store, spectacular building.

Russia is pretty much inaccessible for everyone, not in a geographical sense of course. Apparently everyone needs to apply for visa in order to be granted entry. The police also has the right to demand your passport for random checks. That being said, it did not stop the flocks of tourists I saw around Saint Basil’s Cathedral when I was there.

The Saint Basil’s Cathedral (Собор Василия Блаженного) is the most iconic landmark in Moscow (and possibly the rest of Russia too). It’s shaped like the flames of a rising bonfire and what distinguishes it from the rest of the buildings in Russia is that no other building that was built during the same era looks anything like it.

It was much smaller than I had expected it to be, if there had to be a relative size comparison, I’d say it looks like the size of a Disney castle. :D I’m really glad I was able to visit.

It was a relatively cold day for summer! Wish I had checked the weather before I went out.
