It is really not easy to find laptop sleeves that are 1) Cute, and 2) Not too bulky. I stuck with my practical (but ugly) Memory Foam laptop sleeve for the longest time, simply because I couldn’t find a good replacement that didn’t cost a bomb. Sleeves for Macbook Pro 15″ are harder to come by as well, so I think I have struck gold with this leather envelope sleeve.

Camel really isn’t a colour I’m used to carrying, but this works so well with the manila envelope feel the sleeve is going for. My only complain is that the string frayed after only one use. It’s easily fixable though, I just have to find a similar thread.

I was just laying the items out on the table, and thought I’d take a picture of the contents of my makeup pouch. These are just a few of my favourite items I carry around for touch-ups!

- ZA compact foundation: I bought it only because it was on promotion. It isn’t bad, but hardly something to scream home about. It’s ridiculously affordable though!
- MAC Viva Glam Cyndi: I love MAC lippies, especially that faint vanilla scent. Cyndi is a soft sheer red which is almost universally flattering. It has got to be my favourite lipstick! Plus every single cent spent on Viva Glam lipsticks goes towards AIDS research, and I could get behind that.
- Heavy Rotation pencil eyeliner: I have the liquid version and I LOVE it. It goes on really dark (I hate watery formulas) and doesn’t budge.
- Etude House Miss Tangerine Lipstick: Korean and Japanese makeup brands are evil. They obviously know how to market their items to impulse buyers like me! Each item is packaged like candies and it just makes me ridiculously happy to buy them. I have always wanted to try out orange lipstick, and this is really pigmented!
- Maybelline lipbalm: My lips crack really easily so lipbalms are indispensable. I still really love using Rose Salve though!
What are some of the items you think should always be in a makeup pouch? Lipsticks never last long on me so I always have to bring a tube out for touch ups

I do apologize for the lack of updates here. So many things have been happening lately that blogging has taken a comfortable position on the back burner. I have been really busy with school application amongst other things that have occupied my attention! I have an odd belief that talking about things before they happen will somehow jinx it… but I think I am likely to go back to being a student this fall.
Fingers crossed!
The inaugural issue of Vogue Girl Japan was released on the 12th of March. We are really honoured to have been approached by them and featured alongside famous bloggers like Lulu and your Mom and Fashion Toast!

The magazine comes with two free Gucci pins. It’s already available at Kinokuniya for around $13 sgd!

Gonna end this post off with Cake Pops from Starbucks. I actually do not fancy sweet stuff that much, so I am the last person you’d expect to crave desserts. However, I think I might have a soft spot for these.

I really love the juxtaposition of the crunchy chocolate exterior and the moist cake within.

Okay I cheated, it’s not so much of an outfit shot. I found one of these random images left in my CF card. I remembered the lighting of California was so wonderful it was hard to resist taking a few shots of myself.
I really envy and miss the lovely blue skies. I’d like to take the opportunity to say hello to our Californian readers. I’d love waking up to your weather.

This post was scheduled days before disaster struck in Japan. We thought about simply deleting this post… But we are leaving it here as a bitter-sweet reminder to ourselves of what a beautiful country Japan was, and will always be. The kindness and the silent resilience the Japanese have shown in these times of adversity makes the country, if not the world, a more beautiful place.
It is easy for everyone not directly affected to ignore that this is happening and go on with their lives, but it will be great if we could all think of not only ourselves for even a day. All we ask is that we do not forsake them in their time of need and do whatever we can to help them recover from this disaster.
Right now, we are praying hard that the nuclear reactors remain stable and that the missing will be found unharmed. We are hoping for the best for anyone who have friends or family they have not heard from yet.

Here is what Harajuku looks like now
It is really touching to read what some have to say on this site
“It’s pitch dark but we’ve never seen so many beautiful stars. Look up, Sendai! -conversation at the quake site.”
“Last night when I was tired out waiting for the train at the station, the homeless people gave me one of their cardboards to prevent the cold… even though we usually ignore them in daily life… So warm.”
頑張れ、日本
