Sorry for the lack of post lately… I would come up with an excuse for my absence, but I simply have too many good ones to choose from. So instead, I shall be truthful and admit that I am just an unproductive lump of laziness.

Here are a few things I have bought lately. Clockwise from top:

  • Topshop sweater. I am on a sweater binge. I bought 2 in the span of a few hours and I would be unapologetic about buying even more. Just throw one on over a pair of jeans and I am good to go anywhere. The flagship store at Knightsbridge currently offers 20% off each piece if you buy 2 or more items. Selected items only.
  • Mphosis belt. I needed a belt and this is 9.90. It’s cheaper than my lunch ←My most common excuse to justify buying something.
  • Topshop flats. The very first pair of flats (discounting boots) in my closet. It was an impulse buy after a day of walking around. These are just an interim pair though, I am still on the lookout for a pair of fierce flats.
  • Mphosis cape. I remember lusting after this a year (?) ago. But it was $80 and I just couldn’t justify buying it, being a student. And also because I live in Singapore. Now that it’s 70% off, I can justify buying it even if I live in the sub saharan desert.
  • Mphosis hairband. 50% off 9.90. I poured out all my loose change and bought it simply because it added up just right.
  • Topshop skirt Not on sale unfortunately. But I needed a new bottom and this looked sorta nice.

Next up is a random series of pictures that I just didn’t know where to insert them into. But I guess they do sum up my life – Cats, Coffee and books.

Continuing my stint of non-Fashion Week related posts (I know, it’s obvious I’m procrastinating about Fashion week), I’ve decided to post some watches I really love. I’m not really into the really expensive watches that feature precision clockworks and stuff like that cause I approach watches from a purely fashionable point of view.

Anyway, here goes:

Kiri Watch

Beautiful frosted glass with silicon straps that looks similar to frosted glass too. Beautiful, simple and very desirable.

Available here

Icon Watch

The icon watch is one of my personal favorites. When I saw it in MoMa in NYC, I knew I had to get it. It appeals to the inner geek with its pixellised look and makes people look twice wondering if it’s a real watch or just a fancy bracelet.

Get yours here

Nava Watch Ora Lattea

Elegant leather straps and dots on the watch face somewhat representing planets circling the Sun.

Available here

Nava Watch Ora Unica

Similar leather straps as the one above, this watch might be a little hard to read for some seeing as to the fact that the hands look somewhat like spaghetti. I love squiggly lines.

Available here

Normal Wristwatch

Named the “Normal Watch”, this watch is hardly anything like its name. It features a laser-cut(pew pew pew) hour hand to reveal the hour of the day.

The normal watch is available here

OMAKE オマケ!!

While searching for these watches I found this baby.

Now everyone… *collective awwwwww*

Excuse my straying away from all the excitement from Fashion Week and so on. My attention has been drawn lately to areas outside of fashion like interiors and home furnishings. That, and catching up on Big Bang Theory.

My attention has been drawn to this wonderful piece of furniture which used to be a coffin. Yes, a coffin. I’m not sure if any dead corpse has actually been inside but let’s not ponder on that.

Apparently there will only ever be 3 produced and it’s yours for only $4,500.

Buy it here.

Just a tiny glimpse of what is to come for New York Fashion Week. My favourites so far are from Hervé Léger and Rodarte (as usual!)

Hervé Léger took a break from all that bandage details they were so famous for a year ago (which honestly, is getting just a tad stale). It is replaced with belted elements, such as the waist cincher on the left and the wonderful harness neckline on the right. Camels, tans and blacks are still very much in vogue.

Rodarte’s collection is breath taking. I am seriously loving the maxi length coats, I would think they will be one of the big things this fall/winter season. This silhouette is perfection, truly. Rodarte’s collection consists of the same neutral palette – white, camel and black. I think a maxi coat or dress in either of these colours will be really trendy! Unfortunately I don’t think I am tall or lanky enough to pull this off, however tempting it is.

What do you know, carrying books around is actually the new big thing these days. Now that all the books are in ebook format, I guess something has to be there to fill the void. Kate Spade opts for bright covers (with titles such as Lolita and Great Expectations) while Chanel sticks with an elegant leather-bound volume.

Of the two, I would definitely prefer Chanel’s. I have always liked old leather-bound books, they have such an elegant feel to them!

Do you think this trend will take off? I wonder what books people will choose for theirs. I would probably like House of Leaves and Silence of the Lambs, I think.
