Hello everyone. I am back, with an iTunes generated title no less. I’ve been listening to too much Final Fantasy soundtrack apparently.

Dawn and I explored Haji Lane the other day and found some pretty cute stores, some opened as recent as 2 weeks ago. I can’t wait to feature them some time soon.

I really love maxi dresses, I love how they elongate the body and make you look taller. Bollocks to people who say they’re only for tall people, I mean, look at Nicole Richie. I think she pulls off a maxi dress perfectly.

With summer creeping in on us sneakily, you can expect that maxi dresses are one of the staples you see on the streets like what Dawn mentioned in the last post. In fact, while shopping today, I bought myself another maxi dress. I think my wardrobe will be filled up with maxi dresses this summer.

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Maxi Slip Dress: Topshop
  • Mesh Maxi Dress: Topshop
  • Necklace: Lip Service, Studio Alta(Shinjuku, Tokyo)
  • Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
  • Bag: Studio Alta (Shinjuku, Tokyo)

What are your summer essentials? Is there something that you think you will definitely be wearing alot this summer?

If there is one thing you should know about japanese street trends, it’s that when it hits, you wouldn’t be able to miss it unless you are blind. You can walk down a street and literally spot a dozen girls sporting the same trends. I admit that I am smitten by a few of these trends myself, and will be high lighting some of the most prominent trends this spring/summer season!

The little cotton dress: Light-coloured cotton dresses ranging from mid thigh to maxi length. Maxi dresses are especially popular.

Who do you look to for inspiration? Do you look to style icons like Alexa Chung and Kate Lanphear, or would you much rather look at what others are wearing on the streets? I admit that I belong to the latter category – street styles are just so diverse and much suited for daily wear. Sure, Alexa Chung might look perfect most of the time but how many of us can afford top to toe designer togs? (If you can, I wouldn’t even bother with surfing for inspiration – just hire her stylist.) The styles you see on the streets are so much more real and practical, not to mention attainable. I have not had the chance to dress up for a long time due to work, so surfing online for street snaps soon became a nightly fixture for me. Here are some of my favourites off the streets of Tokyo, from DropSnap and Style-Arena.jp

I seriously love this coordinate. It’s such a gorgeous silhouette – and the hair! The hair!

I love her shoes so much. And looking at her really makes me contemplate hacking off a good 10 inches off my hair.

This look is so simple and chic. I definitely see myself wearing something like that soon. Time to dig out the embarrassing metal t-shirts I’ve amassed during my angsty teenage years!

Where do you get your inspiration from, or are you a fashion ninja and can pull a perfect coordinate from your closet blind?

Taken when I was in Hong Kong sometime in March this year. I know the title isn’t terribly imaginative, but at least I am still keeping with the tradition of naming all the outfit posts after songs on my iTunes!

Black Outfit breakdown:

  • Dress: Mongkok, Hong Kong
  • Jacket: Zara, London
  • Harness: Mongkok, Hong Kong
  • Shoes: Primark

I figured it would be a good time now to blog a little more in-depth about the places we travel to. After all, June is the peak holiday season and so many people are heaving off for a holiday! Unfortunately I will be grounded in Singapore for quite a while.

Generally speaking, shopping in Hong Kong isn’t as cheap as China or Taiwan, and it can get really confusing and disorientating after a while because of the way the malls are laid out. However, Hong Kong is an amazing place to purchase authentic designer duds. Summer sales in Hong Kong really do take a pretty chunk off brands like Louis Vuitton and Givenchy. Furthermore, Hong Kong houses many brands not available in the region. There is a couple of Vivienne Westwood boutiques there, and guerrilla stores houses brands such as Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, Maison Martin Margiela and Acne amongst a few.

That said, should any of you have questions about places we have travelled to, please feel free to email us or head over to our formspring. While we are not a travel blog, we are still able to dish out a tip or two with regards to shopping. We are always eager to share where we get our loots from!

Black Outfit Breakdown:

  • Maxi Dress: Maurie & Eve

I have just shifted to a new laptop (hence the lack of updates recently, amongst a few other things that decide to throw themselves at us in the past few weeks or so.) In the process I have discovered a few pictures that I liked but have never gotten around to posting because it didn’t turn out good enough – should anyone be wondering, we do have a whole lot of rejected outfit shots because the pictures just aren’t up to par! It’s a tricky thing to both maintain quality and posterity. I am slowly sifting through them and re-editing them in lieu posting of new outfit shots, so you might see an influx of back log this week.

You might have noticed that we have included a link to our formspring on our sidebar on the right. We love the questions we’ve been getting, so please don’t stop asking! We might not have answered a few questions because some of them are rather sensitive, or are repeats of other questions, but I promise that we read every single one of them.

Also, a question I would like to ask all of you readers: What would you like to see more of in this blog?
