There’s so much black this season that I am actually getting bored. Yes, ME, an advocate for having 90% of my wardrobe black is saying that seeing so much black on the runway is boring. Or maybe I’m just hard to please.

Ohne Titel Fall Winter 2010Ohne Titel gave us a stimulating union of sheer and opaque. Mesh and leather goes well together.

Okay fine, I would actually like to take back what I said about boring, these paneled tights are what I need in my wardrobe right now.

Draping details are once again spotted, it has proved to be a long standing detail seen in many collections so far.

Rodarte, I am shocked you reversed the colours for the seasons. Black for Spring/Summer and White for Fall/Winter? You rebel, you.

That aside, I believe your collection this season have fulfilled many girls’ matrimonial wish to wear Rodarte for their weddings. Good job.

However, this collection is a mish-mash of prints I do not understand. Then again, I’m not a very print person to begin with. Either way, this season’s collection somehow “not quite Rodarte” but at the same time, it is. How do you explain this ironic statement of mine? I don’t know either.

The neutral tones and interesting textures reminds me of this Japanese street brand called h.Naoto. They have a sub-line called Gramm which garments are made up of a mix of different fabrics and prints.

Not a plug, but this is their site, you can go compare it.>>> h.Naoto webstore go look for the line called “Gramm”.

I like how the dresses are wispy and almost fantasy-like. I even like the ghostly pale skin and smokey silver-grey eyeshadow.

Looking at the closeups, Rodarte has incorporated similar details from the dresses to the shoes.

Rodarte Fall Winter 2010
I am a little confused by the embroided organza pants. I like how it is being paired up with the rest of the outfit, but I honestly can’t think of another way they can be coordinated.

Love the wallpaper print on sheer fabric.

Multi-layering of socks and tights make for my favorite shot of the details in this collection.

Hi everyone, I think most of you would know that the Sonia Rykiel for H&M collection launches today, 20 Feb~!! It’s awesome that I am in a forward timezone where I can -seem- to get everything first. LOL

I just happened to walk in when I saw the cute shoes, then everything else was a blur. Next thing I know, I was walking out the store with a few items from the collection.

Apologies for the ugly photo taken by the iPhone.

There’s actually a lot more in the bag but I was kinda lazy to bring them out.

The platform shoes are awesomely comfortable I’m actually not used to wearing shoes that don’t torture my feet. The lookbook features them worn with the cute striped socks so I got them as well. <3

I can’t wait to wear them.

Once again, I’m kinda late on this. Travelling around most of the time has taken a toll on me, with the cumulative sleep debt that I have, I -could- be that Disney chick they call the “sleeping beauty”. (ok I kid.) I am usually anticipative of New York Fashion Week, with both big names and upcoming designers to watch out for. I love the kind of vibe New York gives. It makes you do stuff and feel like you can achieve anything. But I digress. One of the designers I usually watch is obviously Alexander Wang. His Spring/Summer 2010 collection was a little too colourful for me. *cough* But there were details that I appreciated and the shoes were so much love. This season, he went black. I raised an eyebrow seeing all the bare midriffs thinking to myself, “This is a Fall/ Winter collection?” Then I realise that it is irrelevant to me since where I am, I can bear my midriffs if I want to all year round anyway. While, I -may not agree on the certain fabrics used, I have to say that the pairing of the certain textures make for interesting end results. One has to zoom into the details to truly appreciate the aesthetics of this collection. Trunk bags are love. I’m going to start bringing mine out more often. While many may not realise it, but this style of wearing thigh high leg warmers is actually a popular trend on the streets of Harajuku way back in 2004. I still have the pair that I bought. I think it’s time to bring it out now that it has came back into fashion. I had contemplated for the longest time to throw them out. Pretty glad that I have procrastinated. The deconstructed suiting details is ingenious to me. I love how the lapels of a men’s jacket is made to look like halter straps. Overall, I am pretty pleased with his collection for this season. He just manages to deliver simple styles with clear details and elements that allows for us fashion bloggers to get really excited about. I should expect an influx of people wearing thigh high leg warmers now.

Yes you saw this right. There is RED in this outfit. Don’t start freaking out or leave this page, I promise a good explanation for this. LOL.

I’ve had this jacket for the longest time but never really got round to wearing it. A signature piece from Vivienne Westwood, this heart lapel jacket has got to be one of the most recognizable jackets around. I got it from Yahoo Japan auctions but you’d need to have a Japanese Yahoo account in order to bid there. Anyway, there was this jacket on auctions and I -knew- I had to get it.

I’m not sure if anyone is as excited as us about the new Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. I absolutely love the story and I decided I should play dress up with the movie theme in mind.

The jacket goes perfectly with the image of Queen of Hearts for pretty obvious reasons.

I think my bedsheets are absolutely darling. I got them from Japan a long time ago. I think Japanese have a very huge liking for everything Disney~

Outfit Breakdown:

  • Jacket: Vivienne Westwood
  • Tank top: m)phosis
  • Skirt: m)phosis
  • Tights: Henry Holland for Pretty Polly
  • Shoes: Aldo

Which character in Alice in Wonderland would you dress up as ?
